Excitement Builds for Return of the “Show Me Show Down” to Macon, Missouri
Sellersburg, IN (June 25th, 2025) - The off-season for the Hot Shot’s Secret Pro Pulling League brought major excitement with the announcement of a new multi-year partnership and opportunities to expand the brands of both the league and Hot Shot’s Secret. Alongside the title sponsorship news, fans and competitors were energized by the release of the upcoming schedule, which features fresh dates and events for both the Champions Tour and Regional circuits.
One event, while technically a new date on the calendar, is far from new to longtime fans and historians of the sport. On June 27–28, the Hot Shot’s Secret Champions Tour will return to the Macon County Fairgrounds in Macon, Missouri—a site deeply rooted in pulling history.
Pulling competitions have been held in Macon since the 1970s, attracting top national talent to this scenic North Central Missouri town. Known as the “Show Me Show Down”—a nod to Missouri’s famous slogan—the event has long embodied championship-level pulling and offered fans a hometown atmosphere.
Over the years, the “Show Me Show Down” earned its reputation as a premier event, thanks in large part to the efforts of Dean Carroll, who worked tirelessly to build its profile and attract elite organizations and competitors. Later, David Marino joined Carroll in driving the event’s continued success and ensuring Macon remained a major stop on the circuit.
Now, after more than a decade without a national tour stop, the event is being revived under the leadership of Pro Modified Four Wheel Drive competitor and Macon native Cody Lewis, along with his friend Stephen Shoush. Unbeknownst to each other, both reached out independently to the Hot Shot’s Secret Pro Pulling League about bringing a tour event back to Macon. Once they connected, the momentum quickly built toward securing a 2025 date—and planning kicked into high gear.
Their vision for the event goes beyond tradition: plans include a complimentary meal for competitors, bonus payouts for the top three finishers, and a championship wrestling-style belt awarded to each class winner. “We appreciate the history of this event and the work of those who built the ‘Show Me Show Down’ name,” said Lewis. “We’re thrilled to bring a national event back to our community in 2025 and hope people will come celebrate with us.”

Mark your calendar for the last weekend in June and head to Macon, Missouri, to see the stars of the Hot Shot’s Secret Pro Pulling League return to the historic Macon County Fairgrounds.
