CHARLESTOWN, Indiana (November 19th, 2019) - To succeed on the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Tour it is critical to have a group effort to make it happen. The Mini-Rod Championship for 2019 was a clear example of this with a big helping of international influence as the Weldon, Illinois-based Dirtslinger Team and the Screamin' Bobcat Team from the Netherlands joined forces to put the "Bobcat Jr." into the top spot.
The Dirtslinger Team, led by past Super Modified Tractor Champion Bill Leischner, took the reins of the machine for the majority of the 2019 season with Bill sharing driving duties with his daughter Abbey at select events. Bart van der Sluis, part of the Screamin' Bobcat Team along with Berrie and Bertus Boer, made the trip over the pond to drive the Bobcat Jr. at the Hillsboro Charity Pull. Collectively the team garnered six top-two finishes with Bill wheeling the machine to the championship at the Lucas Oil Mega Pull in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Just shy of the top spot was defending class champion Richard Peters and the "Buckeye Special" in second and Bruce Slagh with the "Show No Mercy" in third.
The collective behind the Bobcat Jr. Championship will be honored this weekend at the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Champions Banquet on Saturday November 23rd at the Marriott Downtown in Louisville, Kentucky. Congratulations to the Dirtslinger Team/Screamin' Bobcat Team for your points championship!
