Charlestown, Indiana (April 21, 2017) - The weekend of April 28th and 29th will kick off the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League season at the Rudy’s Diesel Season Opener in Julian, North Carolina. As we wind quickly towards that day, we will spotlight the classes featured at Rudy’s and the remainder of the Champions Tour and Ag Protect 1 Silver Series classes in the days and weeks following. In this installment, we feature the Super Farm Tractor class.
Super Farm Tractor is a class that is constantly up for grabs and 2016 was no exception; seven different competitors claimed wins across the sixteen sessions of action. Don Slama and the Fast and Furious John Deere from Hillsboro, Wisconsin are the defending champions, who had an incredible battle to take the title as former class champions Nick Skaar, Justin Johnson, and Shawn Boyd were close on Slama’s heels with the Screamin’ Norwegian Case IH. Josh Miley and the High Maintenan$e CaseIH were third in points for 2016 and a mere eight points behind the Skaar/Johnson/Boyd team.
As all three of those potent teams return for 2017, they’re joined by 14 more entries pre-committed to the Champions Tour schedule. For Super Farm, class supremacy is not only a Green vs. Red issue, it’s a matter of state and regional pride. More often than not pullers from Wisconsin have been on top of the class but the not without a fight from competitors from Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. Is this the year that the other states chip away at the armor of the Badger State competitors? Join us next week at Rudy’s Season Opener to watch the 2017 story begin to unfold!
