MAVTV joins force with the perennial favorite Long Brother’s!
Feb. 26, 2010
Keith and Ricky Long have been involved in the sport of truck and tractor pulling for several decades after growing up in the sport under the tutelage of their father. As excitement builds for the start of the 2010 Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League season, the Long brother’s find themselves at a new beginning in their pulling careers. The Glasgow, Kentucky natives are familiar with the demands of the Champions Tour and what it takes to win the coveted crown with the Pro Pulling League as each brother has claimed their own title respectively, (Keith in 2007 and Ricky in 2008). The 2009 season saw the Long brother’s fighting the demands of a three truck team with the introduction of their newest weapon, the Chevy S-10 Ridin Dirty.
The excitement and newness, the Long’s feel for the 2010 season is in large part to MavTV and their sponsorship of the MavTV Bullseye Chevy S-10. “I feel like we are starting fresh, and carrying the name of MavTV provides us a new outlook into a sport we have been involved for the duration of our lives. We are honored to bring the MavTV brand with us to the great fans of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League across the Champions Tour circuit” stated Ricky Long.
The Long’s got their first test with the truck at the prestigious National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky, where Keith piloted the eye catching blue and black Chevy decked out with MavTV name to a spot in the Saturday Night Finals. “The debut of the truck went great; we reached numerous fans of the Farm Machinery Show, while on display in Broadbent Arena. We handed out a large amount of our hero cards and hope this is only the beginning to the awareness we can bring for MavTV” added Ricky Long.
MavTV, Televion Created for Men by Men, has become one of the newest ventures of Lucas Oil Products, as Forrest and Charlotte Lucas announced last month that Lucas Oil Products had become the principal stockholder of the 24-hour cable and satellite television network. “With as many different things as we sponsor, we thought the timing was right to get more involved with MavTV," Forrest Lucas said. "It's really an aggressive and edgy network and one that's growing at a quick pace so we're excited to take this next step."
The station that already features a large variety of Lucas Oil Motorsports and Lucas Oil Studio productions has high expectations of bringing the grassroots of motorsports to the forefront of the viewing community. "The ultimate goal is to make MavTV the place for race fans to go to watch the stuff they want to see the most," Forrest Lucas said. "We're trying to make it as easy as possible for people to keep up with the various types of racing out there. Motorsports is a lot more than just NASCAR. The grassroots stuff has a huge following but they haven't always had a home on the big networks. Now they'll have a dedicated TV network that's happy to have them and promote them properly around the world."
