Many of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League champions have already been crowned. Many more will be crowned at the upcoming final three events to be held at Canton , OH , Fairfield , IL , and Waynesburg , PA. More importantly the select group of competitors for the 2008 race for the chase will be determined.
The hotly contested action for the Worlds largest sanctioning organization will resume this Saturday night, September 1 at the Stark County Fair in Canton , Ohio . Under the production guidance of Power Pulling Productions a member state group within the PPL framework, The Smoke Bellowing ground pounding 20,000 pound Hot Rod Semis will take center stage with support from the ever popular Super Stock 4x4 trucks.
Then on Friday evening September 7 at the New Wayne County Fair Grounds in Fairfield , Illinois starting at 6:00 pm the champion will be announced from the 10,000 Pro-Stock class. The defending Champion Barely Getting Bye piloted by Steve Wischmeier clings to a tense six point lead over the Martin Family's Dairy Deere of Chambersburg, PA. The Fairfield , Illinois crowd will also see exciting action from the Super Modified Tractors with local stand-outs Wayne and Steve Bunnage and their Takes A Lickin Tractor featuring 4-KB Hemis as well as the fantastic wheel standing 2WD Trucks. The Nation's finest trucks will be on hand to determine the final 16 tour positions. Also as an added bonus the Diesel Super Stock trucks, featuring Ben Miller's Ford Powerstroke, Double Overtime and Kent Crowder's Schied Diesel sponsored Dodge.
The final Pro Pulling League Champion's Tour events will then proceed to the Greene County Fair in Waynesburg , PA. The event will start at 6:00 pm on September 15 featuring two track action for the avid fans. Slated for the finals at Waynesburg will be Hot Rod Semis, SM2WD Trucks, Unlimited SS Tractors and Super Stock 4X4 Trucks.
